Smacks Burgers & Hot Chicken posts 49% YoY sales surge in Q1
The group attributed the growth to demand for its core menu.
Smacks Burgers & Hot Chicken has reported a 49% year-on-year rise in system sales in the three months to 30 April 2026, as the chain moves ahead with plans to add 25 new locations over the next 18 months.
The increase covers sales from both company-operated restaurants and franchise sites.
The group attributed the growth to demand for its core menu, including its dipped “smicken” chicken burgers, wings, and Nashville-style jumbo tenders, as well as recent site openings.
Over the past year, Smacks has expanded through franchise locations in Glasgow, Cardiff, and Brighton, alongside a company-run restaurant in London Victoria, which the group said made a significant contribution to the period’s performance.
The business has also started a new franchise recruitment drive, receiving more than 250 enquiries since the beginning of the year as it looks to bring on additional operators.
Smacks said its next opening at Morden Underground Station, its first site in a transport location, is expected to launch within six weeks as part of its planned expansion.
