Zambrero lands in Hampshire with first Basingstoke opening
The outlet has created 10 jobs and seats 25 customers.
Zambrero has opened a new restaurant at Festival Place in Basingstoke, marking its first site in Hampshire.
The outlet opened on 30 May on Queen Anne’s Square in the Festival Place Shopping Centre.
It has created 10 full-time and part-time jobs and offers seating for 25 customers, with both dine-in and takeaway service.
The menu includes burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos, and quesadillas, with fillings such as slow-cooked meats, plus vegetarian, vegan, and halal options.
The restaurant is operated by franchise partner Sumin Lohani, who joined Zambrero in mid-2025 after taking over an existing site in Reading.
He also works as a development agent for the brand, recruiting franchisees across Hampshire, Berkshire, and the Isle of Wight.
Lohani plans to expand the network significantly, aiming for up to 30 restaurants by 2030, with most of the growth focused on Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and the remainder in Berkshire.
The expansion is expected to generate around 450 jobs.
The Basingstoke opening is its 16th UK site since launching in the country in 2021.
The UK portfolio currently includes locations in cities such as London, Manchester, Birmingham, Reading, Essex and Glasgow, with a target of 100 UK restaurants by 2030 through its franchise programme.
