PizzaExpress HK rolls out Grana Padano menu in EU-backed campaign
The limited-time dishes span 19 outlets as cheese-led menu returns for summer.
PizzaExpress HK has launched a limited-time Grana Padano PDO menu in partnership with the EU–co-funded “Happiness from Europe” campaign, running across 19 outlets in Hong Kong from 23 June to 7 September.
The campaign features a three-dish menu built around Grana Padano PDO, a hard cheese produced in Northern Italy’s Po River Valley and protected under PDO status.
PizzaExpress HK said the menu will be available across 19 branches during the promotion period and is being introduced as part of its participation in the campaign tied to Restaurant Weeks.
The campaign highlights Grana Padano PDO’s use across different formats, including sauces, toppings, and pasta applications, according to PizzaExpress HK.
Grana Padano PDO is produced under a protected designation of origin system and is made from milk sourced in Northern Italy’s Po River Valley.
It is aged for a minimum of nine months, with longer ageing producing a firmer texture and stronger flavour profile.
The starter, Cheesy Crab Dip with Grana Padano PDO, incorporates the cheese into a crab-based dip served with a cheese flatbread and is positioned for sharing.
The Grana Padano PDO pizza uses a béchamel base with the cheese integrated into the sauce and shaved on top. It is further topped with porcini, mortadella, mozzarella, and peach.
The Spaghetti Seafood Bianco with Grana Padano PDO features prawns, clams, and mussels in a garlic and white wine sauce, with the cheese mixed into the sauce.
PizzaExpress HK said the dishes will be available for a limited time across participating outlets during the campaign period.
