Greggs sales hit £800m after 7.5% rise in first 19 weeks
The company said expanding franchise and grocery partnerships boosted sales.
Greggs’ total sales for the 19 weeks to 9 May 2026 reached £800m, up 7.5% year-on-year.
Like-for-like sales in its managed shops grew 2.5%, rising to 3.3% in the latest 10-week period, with product changes contributing to the improvement.
The company said its franchise and grocery partnerships continued to expand, adding to overall sales.
During the period, Greggs opened 41 shops, including 17 with franchise partners, whilst closing 21 outlets (11 of which were relocations).
That left a total estate of 2,759 shops as of 9 May, made up of 2,141 company-operated sites and 618 franchised stores.
The company is still planning around 120 net new openings for the full year.
It also said it will open its first airport shop outside the UK in the coming weeks, at Tenerife South Airport, in partnership with Lagardère Travel Retail.
Greggs expects first-half profit to increase but said costs tied to its new Derby facility will weigh more heavily on the second half of 2026, consistent with earlier guidance.
