YO! taps into 90s nostalgia with Tamagotchi-inspired summer menu
The collaboration also extends to YO!’s Kiddo Bento Boxes.
YO! and Tamagotchi have teamed up for a limited-edition summer menu that brings together Japanese-inspired dishes and 1990s nostalgia.
Available at selected YO! restaurants across the UK from 21 July to 6 September, the collaboration features new menu items alongside Tamagotchi-themed Gashapon collectables.
The menu includes the Chicken Katsu-Kun Sando, which combines chicken katsu with slaw, smoky mayonnaise, and katsu sauce served in a brioche bun, as well as the Pumpkin Katsu-Kun Sando, offering a vegetarian alternative with pumpkin katsu.
Other additions include the Mega Katsu-Chan Curry, featuring chicken, prawn, and pumpkin katsu with curry sauce and steamed rice, and the Mega Vegetable Katsu-Chan Curry, made with pumpkin katsu and vegetable gyoza.
The Bulgogi Chicken Karaage-Kun Fries rounds out the new dishes with crispy fries topped with chicken karaage, spicy teriyaki sauce, sesame seeds, and crispy onion.
The collaboration also extends to YO!’s Kiddo Bento Boxes, which have been given a Tamagotchi theme and include limited-edition stickers.
Available alongside YO!’s Kids Eat Free summer offer, the £7.95 Build Your Bento option allows children to customise their meal by choosing a protein such as chicken katsu, pumpkin katsu, prawn katsu, or chicken gyoza, a maki option including cucumber, avocado, or salmon, a side such as a sushi taco, edamame, or prawn cracker, and a choice of drinks.
Customers can also add a dorayaki pancake for an additional £1.50.
