Pret A Manger bets big on protein in major menu shake-up
The chain is also introducing large-size versions of its barista-made beverages.
Pret A Manger is rolling out its biggest menu update in several years this spring, with a focus on higher-protein meals and larger drink sizes.
New additions include “Protein Plates,” each containing over 25g of protein; a new grab-and-go Protein Pot range; and updated Super Plates, including a new vegan option.
The Protein Plates now feature Chicken & Greens, Smoked Salmon & Egg, and Roasted Salmon & Mango.
A new Chicken & Edamame Protein Pot has also been added, alongside existing egg, spinach, and smoked salmon versions. Prices start from £2.95.
Amongst the updated larger meals is a Korean BBQ Tofu Super Plate, a plant-based option with tofu, kimchi, slaw, rice, quinoa, and sauce, providing 21g of protein.
The Chipotle Chicken Super Plate has also been reformulated and now contains 50g of protein.
Two new salad-style bowls are joining the menu: a Miso Chicken Rice Bowl and a Butternut & Hummus Mezze Bowl.
On the drinks side, Pret is introducing large-size versions of its barista-made beverages, alongside new seasonal options such as iced green teas, iced green tea lemonades, a blueberry-flavoured latte (hot or iced), and iced matcha drinks with blueberry or guava flavouring.
