McDonald's expands Quarter Pounder range with two new burgers
The chain sold more than 56 million Quarter Pounders over the past year.
McDonald's Australia has permanently expanded its Quarter Pounder range with two new burgers and the return of two fan favourites as the chain marks more than 50 years of the iconic menu item.
The expanded lineup includes the new Double Quarter Pounder Deluxe and Double Quarter Pounder BBQ Bacon & Crispy Onions, alongside the returning Quarter Pounder Deluxe and Quarter Pounder BBQ Bacon & Crispy Onions.
The range, made with 100% Australian beef, is available nationwide from 8 July across restaurants, drive-thru, McDelivery and the MyMacca's app.
McDonald's said Australians purchased more than 56 million burgers across the Quarter Pounder range over the past 12 months, equivalent to more than 100 burgers every minute. The range accounted for 27.6% of the chain's beef burger sales during the period.
New South Wales recorded the highest sales with more than 17 million Quarter Pounder burgers sold, whilst Victoria and Queensland each exceeded 14 million.
"For over 50 years, the Quarter Pounder has earned its place as one of Australia's most loved burgers thanks to its unmistakeable flavour and consistently satisfying recipe," Amanda Nakad, marketing director at McDonald's Australia, said.
"This milestone gave us the perfect opportunity to celebrate everything our customers love about the Quarter Pounder and bring more choice to the menu – and this new range is here to stay."
