Chopstix opens Sunderland outlet, caps 2025 expansion

High-footfall strategy drives the new opening.

Chopstix ended 2025 with a new opening in Sunderland late last month, bringing its total number of new sites for the year to 21.

The Sunderland site opened on 22 December at The Bridges Shopping Centre.

It reflects the company’s focus on expanding into high-traffic locations and has created 20 new jobs.

The business also completed two store conversions during the year, rebranding former Yangtze locations in Derby and Sheffield as Chopstix outlets.

Chopstix Group’s expansion followed investment from European quick-service restaurant operator QSRP in October 2024, which preceded a period of accelerated growth.
