Subway raises $100k to support veterans

Anzac Day is observed on 25 April each year

Subway Australia raised $100k for the Returned and Services League of Australia (RSL) during the month-long commemoration of Anzac Day, selling its limited-edition Anzac biscuits for a month.

RSL Australia National President Greg Melick praised the thousands of people across the country who showed their support by purchasing a Subway Anzac biscuit. He said the $100k donation would help the organisation provide vital care and assistance to those who have served our country, and their families.

The Anzac biscuit was made available between 7 April to 4 May 2025

Anzac Day is observed on 25 April each year. The Anzac biscuit is a traditional sweet treat from Australia and New Zealand, crafted from rolled oats, flour, sugar, butter, golden syrup, baking soda, boiling water, and often desiccated coconut.

Its origins trace back to World War I, where it's believed that women baked these durable, egg-free biscuits to send to soldiers abroad, as they could withstand long sea voyages without spoiling.
“With all Subway restaurants being locally owned and operated, we know how important it is to engage with the community and give back wherever possible,” Shane Bracken, Subway’s Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand, said.
