Pret A Manger taps former RBI CEO José Cil as Chairman

Cil succeeds Konrad Meyer, who will remain on Pret’s board as a director.

Pret A Manger has tapped José Cil, former CEO of Restaurant Brands International (RBI), as its new chairman.

Cil succeeds Konrad Meyer, who will remain on Pret’s board as a director after serving since JAB acquired the company in 2018.

Cil will work alongside the leadership team to support Pret’s growth and improve its financial performance.

Pret has expanded to 21 countries over the past five years, with a quarter of its sales now coming from outside the UK.

Joining Cil on the Pret board are Elias Diaz Sese, co-founder of Popeyes UK and non-executive director at Domino’s Pizza Group plc, and Andre Molinari, former head of global development and M&A at RBI and head of international development at Tim Hortons.
