McDonald’s UK & Ireland CEO resigns

He will be leaving his position by the end of September

Alistair Macrow has announced his resignation as Chief Executive Officer of McDonald’s UK and Ireland in September after nearly two decades with the company.

“Yesterday, I announced my decision to leave the UK and Ireland business,” Macrow said in a LinkedIn post. “It’s a decision that has been thoughtfully considered over time, and I’m confident that now is the right moment for the business to transition to new leadership.”

Macrow joined McDonald’s 18 years ago, serving in a range of senior leadership roles, including Global Chief Marketing Officer, before taking on the CEO position in 2021.

Lauren Schultz, Field Vice President, Columbus Field Office, McDonald's USA, will take over the position as CEO.
