Island Poké founder leaves 40 sites after 10 years.

The entrepreneur behind the 2016 street food startup confirms he is moving to an undisclosed next venture.

Island Poké founder James Gould-Porter has left the company following the brand’s sale to rival Honi Poke Group Ltd in July last year.

“What an incredible 10 years it’s been. From a small street food stand in West London to opening 40 locations across the UK and France - a journey we could only have dreamed of when we started,” Gould-Porter said in a LinkedIn post.

Island Poké is a London-based, fast-casual restaurant chain serving fresh Hawaiian-inspired poke bowls, rice bowls, and sides, founded in 2016.

“Taking all of these learnings forward, I’m excited to share news of my next venture in the coming days,” Gould-Porter said.
