Guzman y Gomez global CMO resigns
The group's director of marketing for Australia will step up to take over.
Lara Thom, global chief marketing officer of Guzman y Gomez, has resigned after nine years working for the brand, QSR Media has confirmed.
Thom has been with the brand for over nine years. Before that, she worked with Vittoria Food & Beverage.
In a previous interview by QSR Media, Thom said she was drawn to the brand’s challenger positioning and growth ambitions, citing the leadership of founder Steven Marks and then-CEO Mark Hawthorne as key motivations.
At the time, she highlighted plans to amplify the brand’s story, expand digital and loyalty initiatives, and support international growth as the company scaled.
Founder and Co-CEO Steven Marks said the company was grateful for Thom’s contribution to the brand over the past nine years.
“Lara brought real energy and conviction to the GYG brand. She cared deeply about doing it right, not just what looked good, but what actually connected with people. Whatever comes next for her, I have no doubt it’ll be great.”
Claire West, who was appointed as director of marketing for Australia last year, will step up to lead the broader marketing function, working closely with Director of Communications, Alison Peake and the Australian and international teams.
Thom will finish up her role on 24 April.
