Greggs unveils new ‘Bitesize’ shop format
This allows the chain to enter high-traffic locations deemed too small for a full shop.
Greggs has launched a new, smaller shop format called ‘Bitesize Greggs,’ designed to fit into busy, space-limited locations such as travel hubs.
The first of these shops opened on 7 November 2025 at Sevenoaks Railway Station, operating daily and creating 10 local jobs.
The compact outlet sells a reduced menu of Greggs’ most popular items, including sausage rolls, steak bakes, sweet snacks, and Fairtrade hot drinks, as well as the seasonal Festive Bake.
Greggs plans to open a limited number of Bitesize shops to test customer habits and the efficiency of the new design.
The smaller model is expected to let the company expand into high-footfall areas that couldn’t previously accommodate a full-sized Greggs.
The new format will roll out alongside the company’s standard stores as part of its wider growth strategy, with around 120 net new shop openings planned for 2025—an average of four per week.
The next Bitesize locations are due to open in Dartford Station and Cheshire Oaks in December, with additional openings to follow.
