Pizza Hut Indonesia, TUKR partner to manage food production waste
TUKR processes used oil from PHD outlets to support climate goals.
PT Sarimelati Kencana Tbk, the license holder of Pizza Hut in Indonesia, has collaborated with TUKR in managing food production waste across Pizza Hut Delivery (PHD) outlets nationwide.
TUKR is an Indonesian company in the renewable energy sector, particularly in biofuel production. It collects used cooking oil as one of the main raw materials for biofuel.
Through this partnership, used cooking oil from 276 PHD outlets in Indonesia is collected and managed by TUKR to support global efforts in reducing carbon emissions and environmental pollution.
“Over 70% of PHD outlets nationwide have participated, and going forward, all our business locations will join in collecting used cooking oil," said Nurdrajat Sumadyana, senior manager of corporate social responsibility at Pizza Hut Indonesia.
According to TUKR's report from 6 June 2024 to 31 May 2025, 200 PHD locations have participated in the used cooking oil collection program, with a total of more than 31 tonnes, or 31,000 kilograms, collected.
Pizza Hut Indonesia has also implemented 'MENYALA with TUKR' at its Restaurant Support Centre, or headquarters, since June 2025, coinciding with World Environment Day on 5 June.
At the initial collection on 3 June, more than 170 litres of used cooking oil were collected by Pizza Hut employees.
The 'MENYALA with TUKR' program will continue at Pizza Hut as part of a long-term initiative.
