US chain Reborn Coffee enters South Korea with $1m licensing deal
It will open its flagship store this fall in central Seoul.
US-based chain Reborn Coffee Inc. has signed a $1m licensing deal with Reborn Korea Co., Ltd. to open and manage Reborn-branded coffee outlets across South Korea.
Reborn Korea will oversee store development, operations, and local brand growth, whilst introducing the US chain’s speciality drinks, including its cold brew, and adjusting offerings for local tastes.
The company’s South Korean debut will be a flagship store opening this fall in central Seoul, across from Gwanghwamun Gate, the main gate to Gyeongbokgung Palace.
The three-storey headquarters at 24 Yulgok-ro will combine a café, a roasting lab, an education centre, and office space.
The café and bakery will occupy the first floor, a roasting research lab and coffee experience zone will be on the second, and training rooms and offices will be on the third.
Following the launch of the flagship, Reborn Korea plans additional company-run locations in Gwangjin, Nami Island, and Bundang, with further expansion into other major provincial cities within the year.
The deal adds South Korea to Reborn Coffee’s international push, which already includes licensing agreements in the Middle East, China, Georgia, and Armenia.
