
Starbucks targets matcha lovers with new drinks, merch launch
The new drinks join the brand’s matcha menu on 24 September.
Starbucks will release two new matcha-flavoured drinks, the Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte and the Iced Pistachio Oatmilk Matcha Latte, on 24 September.
The Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte combines matcha with strawberry sauce and pieces, blended with low-fat milk and topped with matcha foam. The Iced Pistachio Oatmilk Matcha Latte mixes matcha with pistachio-flavoured oat milk and is also topped with matcha foam.
Meanwhile, inspired by all things matcha, Starbucks is also releasing the Mini Mesh Pouch, a small green and pink mesh bag with a strawberry matcha charm designed for carrying small items such as cards, lipsticks or keys.
The Mini Mesh Pouch will be on the Starbucks Online Store at 10AM, and on LazMall and Shopee Mall at 12PM, while stocks last.
This comes as the matcha market is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 7.1% from $3.37b in 2025 to $6.71b in 2035, fueled by demand for functional, antioxidant-rich products that align with wellness, energy, and mindfulness trends, a report by Future Market Insights said.
