Gami Chicken expects 20% of sales to come from new grilled chicken range by December

The new range is part of their current strategy to launch healthier menu items.

Gami Chicken reported that since its launch in April, its new grilled chicken sales make up 8.8% of total sales.

Known for its fried chicken share plates and ice-cold beer concept, Gami Chicken revamped its menu to include more healthier options for customers.

"The challenge was to offer healthier options whilst still retaining Gami’s famed mouthwatering ‘beautiful’ taste,” said Jun Lee, Gami Chicken’s Executive Director. “Our grilled chicken sales have increased by an impressive 526% over the past 9 weeks since we launched, indicating a growing popularity amongst our customers.”

Customers' favourite menu items include the Mad Gochujang Chicken, a blend of spicy and sweet sizzling chicken complemented by rice cakes and Udon noodles, and Chicken Skewer Plate, which is prepared over open flames then brushed and then drizzled with either sweet chilli, Gochujang, or sweet mustard sauce.

Other new grilled chicken menu items include Honey Butter Garlic Chicken, providing diners with a new taste of Korea to explore, while a Grilled Chicken Burger provides an alternative to the popular crispy fillet version and rounds out the new menu update.

The brand said it seeks to increase sales of its new grilled chicken to 20% of all sales across its 37 restaurants by December.

The success of the new menu item is not a first for Gami Chicken. Its strategy of providing a healthier, wider taste of Korea saw the brand introduce the Bibimbap, Gochujang Chicken, and a Gami Bowl to the menu in 2023 which saw sales growth of 172% from June 2023 to December 2023.
