KFC leverages blind box marketing scheme in new promo

Prizes include starring in a KFC commercial or getting a free trip.

KFC is leveraging a blind box marketing campaign to entice more customers to download and use their app.

In the new FLG Mystery Box campaign, orders placed on the KFC app would have an option to add the $0 FLG Mystery Box which contains a random prize.

Top prizes include being featured in a KFC TV commercial, having a burger named after them on the KFC Secret Menu, and a free trip through Tasmania.

“The FLG Mystery Boxes are our way of adding a bit of spice to everyday app orders. From epic prizes to free bites of our world-famous chicken, we're giving people a chance to embrace the unexpected and make today a little more mysterious,” Sally Spriggs, Group Marketing Director at KFC said.

The FLG Mystery Boxes promotion is available from 18 March to 14 April. Major prizes are drawn over four weeks.
