Bread Ahead launches group tours at its Borough Market site

Each visitor also leaves with one of the chain’s well-known doughnuts.

Bread Ahead is launching a new guided tour at its Borough Market bakery, aimed at visiting groups.

The 90-minute session takes guests inside the working bakery, with a guided walk-through, a talk from founder Matthew Jones about the company’s growth and the changing world of baking, and a buffet featuring pastries, sourdough, sausage rolls, and seasonal fruit.

Each visitor also leaves with one of Bread Ahead’s well-known doughnuts.

Bread Ahead began in Borough Market in 2013 as a small stall reworking traditional British bakes.

It has since expanded to six UK bakeries, a baking school, and 12 sites in the Middle East, with two more planned in the Philippines.

Further openings in Europe and the US are in development.
