Jollibee buys Shabu All Day for $87m to seize hot pot lead
The hotpot segment is poised to reach approximately $90b by 2029.
Jollibee Foods Corporation has acquired Korean hot pot operator All Day Fresh Co., Ltd for $87m via its majority-owned subsidiary Jolli-K Co., Ltd, as the hot pot market is projected to reach $90b by 2029, according to Euromonitor.
All Day Fresh was established in October 2014 and is primarily engaged in the franchise business and food service operations of “Shabu All Day”, a hot pot and eat-all-you-can restaurant brand, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, with 169 stores across South Korea as of January 2025.
Upon completion of the acquisition, Shabu All Day will be consolidated into JFC’s financial statements immediately, estimating the group’s revenues to increase by 2%, increasing the international business’s contribution to 46% of global revenues, and an 8% uplift in global earnings before interest and tax in 2026. It will also add approximately 1% in JFC’s network of restaurants and stores.
JFC said Shabu All Day is the undisputed category leader in Korea, ranking number one in restaurant count amongst hot pot chains. It is also number one in total system‑wide sales at $285mn annually, with industry‑leading per‑store revenue of $2.4m.
According to the group, this transaction represents a strategic bolt-on to our high-ROIC Korean business, Compose Coffee, and reinforces JFC’s commitment to its Chinese Cuisine Segment and franchising initiatives, whilst opening a gateway to the rapidly expanding international hot pot market, one of the fastest-growing dining segments in Asia and globally and an industry experiencing robust global momentum as consumers gravitate toward healthier, interactive, and communal dining experiences.
The news follows the group's launch of Compose Coffee in the Philippines.
