Soul Origin partners with Ellie Carpenter on $4 protein add-on
Customers want more protein on their orders, the chain said.
Soul Origin has signed a long-term partnership with Australian soccer player Ellie Carpenter and introduced a new menu add-on allowing customers to add 80 grams of chicken to any order for $4.
The add-on gives customers a choice between the chain's Chicken Schnitzel or Poached Chicken, which can be added to any salad. Pricing may differ at Soul Origin locations in airports and in New Zealand.
The company said the launch responds to customer demand for higher-protein meals and more customisation options.
Carpenter, a member of the Australian women's national soccer team, said the partnership aligns with her approach to nutrition.
"As an athlete, I want food that's fresh, tasty and filling, and gives me the energy to keep going without the 3 PM slump," Carpenter said.
She said her regular order is a Chicken Avocado Salad with an added 80 grams of poached chicken.
Petra Orrenius, chief marketing officer at Soul Origin, said the company has seen rising demand for protein additions and menu personalisation.
"We're seeing more customers than ever wanting to add more protein and personalise their meals," Orrenius said.
The add-on does not require membership in Soul Origin's Soulmate Rewards loyalty program, though members receive additional discounts.
