Pret A Manger sales up 8% as new menu, shop openings gain pace

Pret A Manger said it has made a strong start to 2026, with systemwide sales in the UK up 8% in the first four months of the year, driven by higher customer traffic and continued store openings.

The trading update follows full-year 2025 system sales of £1.2b, an increase of 2.7% on a constant currency basis, adjusted for the extra week in the prior year.
In 2026 so far, the company has rolled out several menu changes, including an expanded Super Plates range with additional protein-based meals and pots.
It has also introduced half-size baguettes and wraps aimed at lower-priced and lighter meal occasions, along with new matcha drinks and a larger coffee serving size.
Pret has also invested in operational improvements, including more spending on shop teams, equipment, and maintenance, as well as additional barista training focused on consistency and coffee quality.
Internationally, the business continues to grow its footprint, with more than 750 shops across 21 countries, up 5% year-on-year.
UK expansion has included new sites in transport hubs and roadside locations, including its first drive-through store in Warrington.
