PizzaExpress opens first compact QSR site in Brixton

PizzaExpress is opening a smaller, quick-service-style site in Brixton, marking the first of three such locations planned, with others due in Finsbury Park and Earl’s Court in the coming months.
The Brixton branch will use self-service ordering and offer multiple options for customers, including dine-in seating in a basement space, takeaway, and delivery.
The menu focuses on established items such as Dough Balls, the American Hot, and the Sloppy Giuseppe, maintaining the chain’s standard recipes.
Pricing will include set deals: a classic pizza and drink at £9.95 and a smaller pizzetta with a drink at £6.95, available for both eat-in and takeaway customers.
The interior design combines familiar PizzaExpress elements—like black-and-white striping—with materials such as marble, alongside references to Brixton’s music and arts scene.
Artwork highlights past performances linked to the brand’s live music venues, as well as local musicians.
Lighting will shift throughout the day, moving from warmer tones in the daytime to cooler ones in the evening, with the same palette reflected in the digital ordering screens.
The site is expected to create around 15 jobs.
PizzaExpress says it will work with Brixton Soup Kitchen, including donating roughly 800 pizzas annually.
To mark the opening, the restaurant plans to give away 100 Margherita pizzas on 13 May between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
