Grill’d launches largest CBD restaurant in Melbourne
The venue spans two levels, serving both takeaway customers and sit-down diners.
Grill’d is set to open a new restaurant on 5 February on Swanston Street in Melbourne’s CBD.
The venue is the chain’s largest city location to date and spans two levels, catering to both quick takeaway trade and longer sit-down visits.
The street-level space is designed for fast service, with self-serve kiosks, limited outdoor seating, and views onto one of the city’s busiest pedestrian corridors.
The lower level occupies a historically significant basement known as “The Dug-Out.” During World War II, the space operated as an Allied Services Club run by Myer Department Store.
Today, the basement seats up to 170 people and incorporates original brickwork and heritage elements.
The restaurant also includes Grill’d’s first private dining room, accommodating up to 70 guests for group bookings.
To mark the opening, the first 754 customers will receive a free burger, referencing the address of Grill’d’s original Hawthorn restaurant.
On 5-6 February, burgers will be available for $10, with the full menu served all day, including the Mighty Melbourne burger.
