
Greggs’ total sales up 7.4% in first 20 weeks
Like-for-like sales in company-managed shops grew by 2.9%.
Greggs’ total sales were up by 7.4% to £784m for the 20 weeks ending 17 May.
Like-for-like (LFL) sales in company-managed shops grew by 2.9%, with better trading conditions supporting an improved trend.
During the period, the company opened 66 new shops, including 15 run by franchise partners and four new drive-thru outlets, one of which marked its first in Northern Ireland at Craigavon.
In the year to date, 46 shops have closed, including 21 relocations.
As of 17 May, Greggs had a total of 2,638 shops in operation, comprising 2,077 company-managed shops and 561 franchised units.
Most closures are concentrated in the first half of 2025, but the company still expects to open between 140 and 150 more shops net by year-end.
The construction of the group’s new frozen product manufacturing and logistics facility in Derby and National Distribution Centre in Kettering, set to open in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
