Foodco names Richard Goodman as chief executive officer

Serge Infanti, who has been with the group for over 30 years, is now serving as executive chairman.

Foodco, the operator of the Muffin Break and Jamaica Blue franchises, announced the appointment of Richard Goodman as the group’s chief executive officer for Australia and New Zealand starting this month.

Serge Infanti, who has been with the company for over 30 years—serving as CEO for over 15—made the decision to move into the role of executive chairman.

The company’s announcement about the succession plan said Infanti made the decision “after considering his own personal objectives, his family commitments and in the best interest of the long term success of the Foodco Group.”

The new role sees Infanti responsible for international licenced operations, key global projects,
supporting the group’s growth plan in the UK, the Hudsons transition, franchise industry representation and will also assist with post-COVID property negotiations.

Goodman holds a Masters of Business Administration (UTS), starting his career with David Jones on the shop floor and developed to lead store operations and held senior commercial, finance, planning and communications roles. Over the last five years, Richard worked in Heinemann Australia where he served as managing director.

“Richard has deep retail experience, a passion for developing people and a commitment to partnering for mutual value. Richard is an impressive leader with experience leading large teams in Australia and internationally. He has a focus on the customers and has worked across a range [of] retail channels including Shopping Centres, High Streets, Airports and Ecommerce. These skills will be integral in leading us through the next exciting stage of growth,” Infanti said.

“I am looking forward to working hard to grow and develop our people, strengthen our brands, unlock new growth opportunities and importantly, support the success of our franchisees,” Goodman added.
