CHAGEE taps former McDonald’s, Krispy Kreme execs to lead Philippine expansion

The brand recently celebrated its eighth anniversary.

International premium tea chain CHAGEE has appointed Christopher “Sonny” Tiong as Country General Manager and Oliver “Ollie” Rabatan as Deputy General Manager to lead its expansion in the Philippines.

The announcement comes during the celebration of the brand’s eighth anniversary this November.

Tiong is an experienced operations leader, having been the Chief Operations Officer for Krispy Kreme Philippines, Jamba Juice Philippines, and the local chain Pancake House.

Before his appointment, Rabatan was the Vice President - Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald’s Philippines, leading some of the brand’s most noticeable campaigns like the “McSavers Mix & Match”, “Bigger Chicken McDo”, and the McDonald’s App’s rapid adoption.

In a separate interview with Eugene Lee, Global Chief Marketing Officer of CHAGEE, the brand's expansion in the Philippines is part of a broader ambition to modernise tea culture and establish itself as a lifestyle brand in Asia.

CHAGEE has over 7,000 locations and first launched in the Philippines in August 2025. It currently has four locations.
