Zarraffa’s Coffee expands North with new Smithfield drive-thru
Up to 30 jobs are expected to be created at the new location.
Zarraffa’s Coffee has opened its fourth Cairns-region store, launching a new drive-thru location in Smithfield and extending its footprint into the northside for the first time.
The store is operated by long-time franchise partners Paul and Jo Brierley, who have worked with the brand for more than 12 years.
Their expansion in the region began with Cairns Showground in 2014, followed by Edmonton in 2018 and Manunda in 2024, with Smithfield now added to their network.
The opening comes in a milestone year for Zarraffa’s Coffee, which is marking 30 years in business and 25 years in franchising.
The Smithfield site combines drive-thru service with dine-in seating and offers the company’s standard coffee and food menu.
Up to 30 jobs are expected to be created at the new location, adding to about 120 staff already employed across the Brierleys’ Cairns stores.
Zarraffa’s Coffee operates 86 stores nationally and continues its expansion plans toward 200 locations ahead of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
