Thailand’s Café Amazon ramps up global expansion via franchising
The chain's coffee sales rose 4.9% year on year in Q2.
Thailand’s Café Amazon is expanding its global footprint, moving into new markets including Laos, the Philippines, Japan, Oman, and Bahrain through franchise partnerships.
Run by PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), the chain has evolved from a small coffee stop inside PTT gas stations to one of Asia’s largest café chains, with more than 5,000 outlets worldwide.
In the second quarter of 2025, Café Amazon sold over 107 million cups of coffee, which is about 1.2 million per day, up 4.9% from a year earlier.
The increase was driven by new store openings and steady demand.
