Signature Hospitality Group, the owner and operator of TGI Fridays in Australia, has been granted approval by the global brand to offer sub-franchising opportunities to local hospitality entrepreneurs.

“It is a very ‘happy hour’ indeed to have TGI Fridays International identify Australia/New Zealand as a strong market and ideal launching ground for our sub-franchise model,” SHG CEO James Sinclair said in a media release.

Cited IBISWorld data by SHG revealed the franchising market in Australia is worth $155 billion with over 1,100 franchisors and 65,000 franchise units.

“Franchising a business under TGI Fridays, which has strong awareness in the Australian market, provides an attractive way to do just that. We offer the opportunity to combine being entrepreneurial and running your own business, with the backing of a global brand that’s been growing for over 50 years - since 1965,” Sinclair added.

SHG is on the hunt for franchisees in WA, NSW and QLD, whether they take on a new or an existing site.
