Zambrero hits 100 million donated meals through Plate 4 Plate

Free burritos will be available in the UK on 17 December, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Zambrero has reached 100 million donated meals through its Plate 4 Plate scheme and is marking the milestone by handing out 100,000 free burritos across its global restaurant network.

In the UK, free burritos will be available on 17 December from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Zambrero locations in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Reading, and Essex.

Customers are expected to queue, with availability on a first-come, first-served basis.

The fast-casual chain was founded in Australia in 2005 by Dr Sam Prince, a philanthropist and entrepreneur.

Plate 4 Plate was introduced in the company’s early years and has remained in place since then.

Under the initiative, each burrito or bowl sold funds a meal for someone in need in developing countries, distributed through the charity Rise Against Hunger.
