DoorDash offers $15,000 grant to restaurants hit by Cyclone Alfred
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until 30 May.
DoorDash has launched its Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund to support restaurants impacted by Cyclone Alfred.
The fund provides $15,000 in grants to help local restaurants cover essential expenses.
This follows DoorDash's activation of its Severe Weather Protocol and suspension of operations across parts of South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
“This initiative is about supporting small businesses during their most vulnerable times; whether it's helping cover payroll or repair damages or replace equipment, every bit helps,” said Simon Rossi, vice president of DoorDash. “Helping local restaurants recover faster helps local communities recover faster.”
To apply for relief, restaurants must have between one and three brick-and-mortar locations, fewer than 50 employees per site, have been open for at least six months, and be independently owned. They must also have been impacted by a state- or federally-declared natural disaster.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until 30 May, with submissions required within 12 months of the declared disaster.
