Store expansion up in past three months
Most store openings were seen in Victoria, a GapMaps report revealed.
Store expansion in the QSR market increased over the past three months to June 2022, new data from cloud-based location intelligence business GapMaps revealed.
The company’s June report, which tracked 27 leading brands, saw 42 openings in the past three months and 19 closures, resulting in a net change of 23.
Of those tracked, Subway (+5), Taco Bell (+5) and Guzman Y Gomez (+4) lead openings whilst Pizza Hut (-4) and Zambrero (-5) recorded the most store closures. At a state level, most store openings were seen in Victoria, with 15, whilst Queensland accounted for the highest number of store closures with eight.
Over the last 12 months to June 2022, the tracked brands opened a total of 208 sites whilst closed 93.
