Hudson & Rye opens DIFC Square, plans UAE rollout to 10 sites
New York-style deli enters Dubai with five-year multi-site rollout strategy.
Hudson & Rye will open its first outlet at Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Square on 30 June, with plans to expand to as many as 10 locations across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) within five years.
The concept, founded by Dubai-based restaurateurs Emma Zabinsky Csillag and Daniel Ross-Leutwyler, alongside a group of partners, will occupy a ground-floor site in Tower 3 at DIFC Square.
Ross-Leutwyler, who helped reopen New York deli S&P Lunch, said the company identified a gap in Dubai’s dining market.
“There really is no place like home and as an expat in Dubai, there’s one thing I feel is missing, and that’s exactly the gap in the market we’re looking to fill,” Ross-Leutwyler said.
Hudson & Rye will serve traditional New York deli dishes, including pastrami sandwiches, Reubens, tuna melts, and breakfast items.
“We’ve worked closely with our suppliers, sampled an extensive range of produce and spent months refining recipes and end-products to ensure we’re bringing the proper taste here to the UAE,” Ross-Leutwyler said.
The company plans to introduce delivery and catering services in July through Careem, Deliveroo, and Talabat, alongside its in-house offering.
