Café de Coral to suspend dine-in services amidst fifth COVID wave in Hong Kong

Affected stores will remain open for takeout services only until further notice, the company said.

Café de Coral Holdings announced that dine-in services at the “majority” of its namesake fast food chain and Super Super Congee & Noodles outlets will be suspended beginning March 1.

The stores will remain open for takeout services only until further notice, the company said, noting some stores under the group's casual dining brands will operate under “adjusted opening hours and service models.”

Institutional catering units will remain in operation at the request of clients, it added. Select stores will also continue to offer dine-in services.

"This decision has been made to safeguard the health of our customers and employees, and to minimise the risk of transmission from unmasked patrons in our restaurants. We will continue to serve our customers by providing takeout services," Piony Leung, Café de Coral’s managing director for Hong Kong, said in an announcement.

The measure will reduce the number of people in stores and alleviate pressure on frontline staff, she added.
