Saudi chain Burgerizzr acquires majority stake in Shovel Coffee Roaster

Shovel currently runs seven coffee shops and has six more in development.

Saudi fast-food chain Burgerizzr has acquired a majority stake in Shovel Coffee Roaster, a local specialty coffee brand affiliated with the Specialty Coffee Association.

“Burgerizzr plans to accelerate Shovel’s expansion and broaden the distribution of its coffee offerings through Burgerizzr’s network of more than 113 branches,” said Mohammed Al-Kaoud, CEO of Burgerizzr.

Shovel, which currently runs seven coffee shops and has six more in development, will continue to operate under its own brand within the Burgerizzr group.

Burgerizzr, founded as a single outlet, is aiming to grow its footprint to more than 200 locations by 2030.
