Dodo Pizza starts Spanish expansion drive with Sabadell opening

The chain aims to open 50 restaurants in Catalonia by 2035.

Dodo Pizza has launched in Spain, opening its first outlet in Sabadell, near Barcelona.

The chain is part of Dodo Brands, which is based in the Astana International Financial Centre in Kazakhstan, and said it generated more than $1.8bn in revenue in 2025, up 22% year-on-year.

“We have signed an Area Development Agreement for the region and see strong potential to scale the brand here in a disciplined and sustainable way,” said Ilya Kholodnov, head of international marketing and sales at Dodo Brands.

“At the same time, we are actively exploring opportunities to work with exclusive partners in other regions of Spain as part of our long-term market development strategy,” Kholodnov added.

Dodo Pizza plans to open three to four restaurants by the end of 2026, initially focusing on the Barcelona area to build operational and delivery scale.

From the third year, the company expects to add up to four sites annually in Barcelona, with a target of up to 50 restaurants in Catalonia by 2035.

The menu has been tailored for Spain and includes 18 pizza varieties, 10 snacks, and two desserts, with seasonal items planned.

Some products were created specifically for the market, including garlic cheese rolls and a goat cheese pizza.
