YO-Chi swaps 700,000 spoons for edible ones

With the edible spoon, the utensil becomes part of the dessert itself.

YO-Chi has worked with The Edible Cutlery to replace disposable spoons with edible ones across its 50 stores, eliminating more than 700,000 single-use utensils.

Customers are now served frozen yoghurt with spoons that can be eaten after use.

The edible spoon changes how the dessert is consumed, making the utensil part of the product.

Following the rollout at YO-Chi, the Edible Cutlery initiative is seeking to expand into other foodservice settings, including cafés, dessert shops, and quick-service restaurants.
