Yum China total system sales up 7% YoY in Q4 2025

Total revenue was up by 9% YoY to $2.8b.

Yum China reported that total system sales rose 7% year-on-year (YoY) in the fourth quarter of 2025, excluding foreign currency translation (F/X).

Same-store sales increased 3% YoY, marking the third consecutive quarter of growth, whilst same-store transactions were up 4% YoY for the 12th straight quarter.

Total revenue reached $2.8b, up 9% YoY from the prior year, or 7% after adjusting for foreign exchange.

The company added 587 net new stores during the quarter, with 36% of those opened by franchisees.

Operating profit grew 25% YoY to $187m, and core operating profit increased 23% YoY, pushing the operating margin up to 6.6% YoY, an 80 basis point gain from a year earlier.

Diluted earnings per share rose 33% to $0.40, or up 29% excluding F/X, and 21% further when excluding the impact of mark-to-market equity investments.

By brand, KFC’s system sales grew 8% YoY, with same-store sales and transactions both rising 3% YoY.

Operating profit for KFC increased 16% YoY to $223m, with core operating profit up 14% YoY, and its operating margin expanded 60 basis points to 10.5% YoY.

Pizza Hut’s system sales were up 6% YoY, driven by a 13% YoY increase in same-store transactions, though same-store sales rose only 1% YoY.

Operating profit for Pizza Hut jumped 52% YoY to $20m, whilst core operating profit increased 51% YoY, lifting the operating margin by 110 basis points to 3.7% YoY.

Looking ahead to 2026, Yum China plans to operate more than 20,000 stores, adding over 1,900 net new locations, with 40-50% of the new stores expected to be franchise-operated.

The company anticipates capital expenditures of roughly $600m to $700m and $1.5b capital return to shareholders.
