Gong cha plans more pop-ups after Halloween success
The brand sold over 2,000 cups in four days.
Gong cha has teased that it plans to launch more pop-ups in festivals across Australia, following its recent success during Halloween, where it sold over 2,000 cups.
Gong cha sold over 2,350 cups of bubble tea in four days during the Ghost Festival, Australia’s first annual Halloween street festival.
During the event, Gong cha unveiled a Halloween exclusive drink, Brain Smash. It also released the Skeleton Bottle Collection, which comes in four best-selling drinks: Pearl Milk Tea, Passionfruit Green Tea with Coconut Jelly, Lychee Oolong with Lychee Pearls, and Mango Alisan Tea with Mango Pearls.

“The weather couldn’t stop the fun. Even with the drizzle, the queue was non-stop. Seeing fans line up with umbrellas showed just how strong their love for Gong cha is,” said Brendan Sigvart, Chief Operating Officer of Gong cha Australia.
The brand said it will also launch exclusive drinks and other merchandise during these pop-ups.
In a report by Capital One Research, the global pop-up retail market is worth $95b in 2025, driven by consumer demand for experiential marketing.
