Sushi Sushi acquires Sushi Musa brand

Nine restaurants will now be under Sushi Sushi

Sushi Sushi has acquired sushi train restaurant Sushi Musa.

The acquisition encompasses nine Sushi Musa restaurants, located across Sydney, Newcastle and Canberra, marking a significant milestone in The Sushi Sushi Group’s expansion strategy.

Opened in 2018, Sushi Musa is renowned for its sushi trains, having built a reputation for bringing theatre to the sushi train concept with their highly skilled chefs showcasing their exceptional fish cutting skills and fresh produce front of house throughout the day, making every visit a captivating experience for diners.

Stephen Anders, CEO of Sushi Sushi, says welcoming the Sushi Musa brand into the Sushi Sushi Group is a significant milestone in the expansion model as the acquisition of Sushi Musa underscores the Group’s dedication to growth and innovation in the category and adds another destination dining option to the portfolio.

“As the pioneers of the sushi category in Australia we are excited to grow this concept nationally. Until now, our store model has meant preparation has traditionally been back of house and the knife skills of our staff have predominantly gone unnoticed. Making sushi is an art and it is beautiful to watch. The Sushi Musa model puts the chefs front of house and on display. No other brand with scale showcases these skills, so integrating Sushi Musa's unique offerings into our portfolio enhances our ability to deliver an exceptional and engaging dining experience to our customers on a larger scale.,” Anders said.

Sushi Sushi has over 170 restaurants.
