Singapore’s F&B sales up 7.4% in December

Total sales value of F&B services in December was estimated at S$855 million.

Sales of food and beverage (F&B) services in Singapore jumped in December, driven by the easing of dining-in restrictions from late November onwards.

Data from the country’s statistics department (SingStat) saw sales rising 7.4% that month, compared to November's 1% increase.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, sales of F&B services increased 11.7% in December over November, largely attributed to the lower base in November when there were stricter COVID-19 restrictions on dining-in.

From November 1 to 21, dining-in was allowed for groups of up to two fully vaccinated people before increasing to five fully vaccinated people on November 22.

Total sales value of F&B services in December was estimated at S$855 million, SingStat said. Of this, online sales made up an estimated 28.6% compared to the 33.3% recorded in November.
