Guzman y Gomez opens 53rd QLD restaurant

The Mexican chain was recently valued at $1.2 billion.

Guzman y Gomez (GYG) opened its 53rd restaurant in QLD, located in Rochedale, Brisbane.

The outlet on Miles Platting Road follows recent openings in Westmead and Burnside. It sold $5 burritos and burrito bowls on opening day.

GYG was recently valued at $1.2 billion after Magellan Financial Group agreed to sell its 11.6% stake in the Mexican fast food chain for $140 million.

Founder Steven Marks previously told QSR Media plans for the brand to about 600 restaurants, which will make it part of the top ten largest restaurant brands in the country.
