Doughnut Time Germany buys UK brand rights
The brand announced that it is looking for new partners in the country.
Doughnut Time Germany has bought the franchise rights of the brand in the UK and is seeking new partners for its expansion plans.
The acquisition, led by a syndicate spearheaded by Damian Griffiths, CEO of Doughnut Time Germany, takes effect at midnight on 31 December 2024. This means all intellectual property (IP), including the UK brand’s distinctive identity and digital assets, remains under Doughnut Time’s ownership, securing its future growth and legacy in the UK.
As part of the transition, the current UK franchise operator, Tom Anderson, will rebrand the existing network of 15 stores under a new identity.
Doughnut Time, originally founded in Australia, entered the UK market in 2019 with a flagship store on Shaftesbury Avenue, London. In 2023, Doughnut Time Germany launched two stores and a production bakery in Berlin, establishing a solid foundation for its European presence.
