KFC China’s Food Bank programme recognise in Fortune's 2025 Change the World list

The list recognises companies that drive positive social impacts.

KFC China's Food Bank programme has been recognised in Fortune's 2025 "Change the World” list, which recognises companies that drive positive social impact through initiatives integrated into their core business strategy.

This marks the second time the company has been included in the rankings.

The KFC Food Bank programme, originally launched in 2020 in Shenzhen, has grown to over 1,000 collection points in more than 180 cities in China. The program provides free, surplus food still within shelf life to community members in need via stations located next to KFC restaurants.

This initiative supports local communities whilst contributing towards Yum China's target to reduce food waste per restaurant by 10% by 2030 versus a 2020 baseline.

Fortune's annual Change the World list, now in its 11th year, is selected by Fortune editors based on the magazine's own reporting and independent analysis, with the most important criteria being measurable social impact, business results, and degree of innovation.
