Chargrill Charlie’s to launch LTO on National Reconciliation Week

The brand has partnered with the Native Botanical Brewery founder for the launch.

Chargrill Charlie’s has partnered with Corey Grech, founder of Native Botanical Brewery, to create a new limited-edition menu in honour of National Reconciliation Week, which celebrates native foods and connection to country.

The Bush Myrtle Crunch Salad features a native blend of lemon myrtle, cinnamon myrtle, aniseed myrtle and dried saltbush.

The new menu will only be available at Chargrill Charlie’s Marrickville restaurant from 27 May until 23 June. The collaborative creation is based on Chargrill Charlie’s beloved Avocado + Rocket Salad, reimagined to hero unique native Australian flavours, a culinary tribute to reconciliation and shared stories.

Grech, who was born and raised in Marrickville and Newtown and has 17 years of experience in the Australian native bush food industry, said that the ingredients they used to create Bush Myrtle Crunch are native foods from the oldest living culture in the world.

“It’s been great to come back to Marrickville and share my passion for native foods with Chargrill Charlie’s and the local community - I hope everyone loves tasting a bit of history and a bit of home," Grech said.

This initiative forms part of Craveable Brands’ commitment to reconciliation through its second Reconciliation Action Plan, reinforcing the company and Chargrill Charlie’s commitment to elevating First Nations voices, promoting tangible action towards reconciliation and fostering meaningful local-first collaborations.
