Greggs opens smaller ‘Bitesize’ shop at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet

The new outlet operates seven days a week and has created 15 jobs.

Greggs has opened a new “Bitesize Greggs” outlet at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, marking the latest launch of its smaller shop format.

The reduced-size stores are designed for busy locations where space is limited.

The Cheshire Oaks shop operates seven days a week and has created 15 jobs.

It follows the opening of the first Bitesize Greggs at Sevenoaks railway station in November, with a second opening at Dartford station earlier this month.

The format is being trialled to gauge customer demand and assess how the smaller stores perform operationally.

With a smaller footprint, Bitesize Greggs focuses on a selection of core products, including sausage rolls, steak bakes, sweet items, and Fairtrade hot drinks.

The Cheshire Oaks branch will also sell the Festive Bake, which has recently returned nationwide.

Greggs said the Bitesize format will be developed alongside its larger shops as part of its wider expansion strategy.

The company is aiming to open around 120 net new shops in 2025 and expects to add further Bitesize Greggs locations in 2026.
