Global flavours gain popularity amongst Gen Zs

Over half of Gen Z consumers consider exploring new cuisines a special treat.

Around 68% of UK consumers say restaurants with adventurous global cuisines appeal to them, increasing to 77% with Gen Z, according to Unilever Food Solutions’ Future Menus report.

Consumers seeking authentic experiences in food discovery are particularly strong amongst Gen Z, with 53% viewing the exploration of new cuisines as a genuine treat.

Additionally, 62% of Gen Z said they are more likely to return to a restaurant where chefs experiment with modern takes on food from around the world.

Moreover, 46% of consumers would be more likely to return to a restaurant where you can see the chefs cooking, increasing to half (51%) of Gen Zs.
