US bakery chain Sprinkles launches in Asia
The brand launched its franchise in South Korea.
US bakery chain Sprinkles has launched its first global franchise in South Korea, with plans to expand to Singapore and Malaysia soon.
First opened in Beverly Hills, California in 2005, Sprinkles serves cupcakes, cakes and cookies that are baked fresh in small batches throughout the day. The brand is also known for its innovative Cupcake ATM, a vending machine filled with cupcakes. A single ATM can hold 400 to 800 cupcakes that are restocked several times a day.
According to Sprinkles Vice President of Development Brett Willis, to prepare for the launch, they have built a full team to support franchisees, including Operations, Training, Marketing and Construction.
“With strong demand for other countries, these franchisee signings are only the start to developing our global brand presence as we intend to sign franchises in Europe, South American and additional ASEAN countries,” Willis said
The brand said it is working with SPC Samlip as its international franchise partners, with plans to open 18 bakeries internationally starting 2024.
Sprinkles currently has over 70 bakeries.
